The first NAFTA’s negotiation round will start this week at Washington DC’s Marriot Wardman Park Hotel.
Each Mexican Ministry of State will have at least one agent at the 27 working tables created by the governments.
300 specialists from the private sector are part of the Mexican delegation.
Talks and negotiations will be held every day but not all negotiating groups will participate simultaneously.
Negotiation leaders will have meetings with each table chief to review the discussed topics of the day and create strategies to approach the new ones.
From time to time, officials will consult the private sector representatives (sector experts) in what they will call the “room next door.”
Some legislators from the Mexican Senate were assigned to accompany the Ministry of Economy at the negotiation tables.
